It is only by building what you design that you actually experience the consequences of every design decision.

Akala ko wala na rin akong interest sa design. Kasi halos exclusive na sa front-end ang tasks ko sa office and I’m having a lot of fun getting better at it.

Not until I tried playing with type again. Tapos nag-layout! :)

Nakamiss yung stress. Yung uncertainty kung ok ba.

Iba ang mode of thinking pag sa design.

Kung magkaron ng opportunity mag-design ulit, hindi na ako tatanggi.

hourlybird:

My mother taught me this trick - if you repeat something over and over again, it loses its meaning. Our existence, she said, is the same way. You watch the sunset too often, it just becomes 6PM. You make the same mistake over and over, you stop calling it a mistake. If you just wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up one day, you’ll forget why.”

A long time ago I made a decision
to become a failure. It wasn’t
as easy as I thought: browsing through life
from one distraction to the next, while waiting
for the last lost moment to become unseizable.
As if there were some fundamental honesty
to not striving: There wasn’t.
I suspected it all along.

While coding I always have Evernote opened because it contains solutions to problem I’ve had before.

Kunwari the last site I coded required me to change <input>’s placeholder style. After researching, I’d add up a note with my search term as a title CSS styling placeholder.

Next time I’d just search on my Evernote instead, and get direct result with filtered-out crap.

Mas mabilis.

Ganito usually ang setup ko when coding a static site.

I have 2 monitors, divided in 4 tiles.

Design / Mockup - This is where I base my decisions how I should code things up. Ito yung pinaka-plano, kaya mahalaga sa akin na lagi ko &#8216;tong nakikita.
Linux terminal - This window is actually Linux terminal with running tmux (terminal multiplexer). It has multiple terminals running in it

taskpaper.vim - where I track my tasks on all my projects. It syncs with my phone.
middleman - it tracks changes on haml and sass files and automatically reloads the browser on every file change
vim (current view) - where I actually code

Chrome - Mobile preview
Chrome - Full preview

Wrong

I did not know how to do it right, so first I did it wrong.

One thing that prevents me from doing a lot of things is the fear of being wrong.

Much more worse than doing something wrong is not doing it at all.

Hindi obvious sa akin to dati: being wrong is a really good form of feedback.

Kasi it hurts. Ngayon I try to use that feeling as a cue na I need to change something.

Feedbacks are key things in getting better.
